My passion for design, innovation, and giving back.
I’m a renaissance man (i.e. multi-talented).
I do interesting things, like paddleboard around icebergs.
I'm old, some people like to call it experienced.
My ability to know when not to ramble on.
I am an innovative art director and designer, who loves to mentor and teach. I welcome challenges, change, and thrive in collaborative environments. In my career I’ve worked with people from all different backgrounds, worked on amazing projects, and met fantastic people. I’ve worked at agencies, magazines, a university and been a freelancer. A former supervisor always called me a renaissance man, I can't think of a better compliment.
Conceptualizing and leading visual strategies and brands for restaurants, college departments, and events. Continually communicating and implementing my vision.
Dedicated designer, chances are you’ve seen others. I’m sure you noticed everyone says the same thing talking about how great they are. Well, me too.
In a previous role I served as the Innovation Team leader, creating an innovation culture, fostering new ideas, and driving innovation at SUNY Geneseo.
I am passionate about design, technology and nature but the most important things in my life are my family and giving back.
I've experienced lots in my life: from moving across the US to go to school in Denver, traveling around doing service projects with Americorps NCCC, getting to build houses in around the southeast and Mexico with Habitat for Humanity, being a teacher in the Caribbean with the Peace Corps all the while, freelancing, designing at magazines and agencies.
Even though I've come full circle and moved back to my rural hometown, time is in short supply. From my creative world to spending every moment I can with my loving wife and kids and building a house for them, to always trying to learn something new (chatbots are my newest fascination), to wanting to take a walk in the woods. My ideal Saturday is getting up early to create something then spending the day outside working in the garden with my kids running around, and an evening paddle on the lake to end the day. I know I should have a better presence on social media but there are more important things in my world right now.
After seeing the artistic designs Michael was working on, I decided to contact him. His meetings were casual and he was genuinely interested in the ideas I wanted to convey. Its great working with someone who does the research and has the creativity to create a design that is a center piece.Poray Patent and Illustration LLC

He is clearly an expert in his field. He understood the project and requirements very quickly and turned around prototypes in just few days. He has excellent communication skills and provides great value and service to his clients. I highly recommend Michael.Sharepoint
Michael is a mild-mannered quiet man, but his design work is anything but! With a flair that most likely comes from his multi-faceted background, Michael brought a fresh eye to every client's project we worked on, no matter how many projects they brought our way. It was a pleasure and honour to have worked with him as colleagues, and I enjoy following his progress beyond the agency.DV8 Unlimited
