My passion for visual storytelling and persuasive design.
I’m a lifelong learner, leader, and renaissance man.
I invest in and give back to my community to make it a better place.
I do interesting things, like paddleboard around icebergs.
My ability to know when not to ramble on.
I am an innovative creative director, who loves to mentor and teach. I welcome challenges, change, and thrive in collaborative environments. In my career I’ve worked with people from all different backgrounds, worked on amazing projects, and met fantastic people. I’ve worked at agencies, magazines, a university and been a freelancer. A former supervisor always called me a renaissance man, I can't think of a better compliment.
Everything is designed. Few things are designed well, I aim to change that by working with, communicating my vision, and leading visual strategies.
I'm in the translation industry, the bridge and the mediator between creatives, leadership and stakeholders. Understanding, communicating, and coaching, while always looking ahead.
The mix of design, empathy, and research is right in my wheelhouse. I find myself teaching college workshops and stressing the importance of the user and experience with all my collaborators.
Innovation Team leader while at SUNY Geneseo, creating an innovation culture, fostering new ideas, and driving innovation at the college. I strive to be good at the next way of thinking.
I am passionate about design, coaching, and nature but the most important things in my life are my family and giving back to the community.
I've experienced lots in my life: from moving across the US to go to school, traveling around doing service projects with Americorps NCCC, leading the building of houses in around the southeast and Mexico with Habitat for Humanity, being a teacher in the Caribbean with the Peace Corps all the while, freelancing, designing, and creating.
Even though I've come full circle and moved back to my rural hometown, time is in short supply. From my creative world to spending every moment I can with my awesome wife and kids and building a house for them, to always trying to learn something new (AR is my newest fascination), to wanting to take a walk in the woods. My ideal Saturday is getting up early to create something then spending the day outside playing in the garden with my kids running around, and of course a neighborhood campfire. I know I should have a better presence on social media but there are more important things in my world right now, sorry instagram.
